How to Create a Solana Token: A Clean Launch Checklist

By Oddrix ·

Creating a token on Solana takes a minute. Launching one that people actually trust takes a bit more care. This checklist covers both, using the Oddrix launch tools, where everything is signed in your own wallet.

1. Decide the basics

2. Create the token

The token creator builds one transaction that creates the mint, stores the name, ticker and logo on-chain, and mints the full supply to your wallet. Oddrix's 0.1 SOL fee is part of that same transaction, so you see it in your wallet before you approve. You also pay Solana's small rent and network fees.

3. Revoke mint authority

While mint authority exists, the creator can print more tokens at any time. Buyers check this first. Revoking it fixes the supply forever, and rug checkers show "mint: revoked".

4. Revoke freeze authority

Freeze authority lets the creator freeze any holder's tokens. Unless you are building something regulated that needs it, revoke it. Many DEX pools and rug checkers flag tokens that still have it.

5. Make the metadata immutable

If the metadata can change, the name or logo could be switched after launch. Making it immutable shows that the token is what it says. Only do this once you are sure the details are final.

6. Add liquidity on a DEX

A token with no liquidity cannot be traded. Create a pool on Raydium or Meteora, or launch on a bonding curve with pump.fun. Then consider burning or locking the LP tokens, so liquidity cannot be pulled out.

7. Run a rug check on yourself

Paste your mint into the free Oddrix rug check. It reads the chain directly and shows mint and freeze authority, supply and how concentrated the top holders are. Fix anything red before you promote the token.

Red flags buyers look for

A clean launch does not guarantee a token will go anywhere, but it removes the easy reasons for people to walk away. Nothing here is financial advice.
